The President of Turkmenistan in his speech at the meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty noted that the national logistics strategy is based on a well-established practice: the expanses of our state have been a component of the Great Silk Road since ancient times, uniting Asia and Europe, countries and cities, nations and cultures. The importance of this fact for the world integration processes cannot be diminished.
Favorable geographical factors open for Turkmenistan an opportunity to develop a competitive transport macrostructure. At the moment the state implements projects of sea, air, automobile, railway and pipeline communication. The implementation of transport and logistics projects Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey (Lapis Lazuli) and Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman contribute to activation of continental and regional cooperation.
The national logistics in the sphere of energy transportation is based on the existing Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline and the TAPI pipeline under construction.
Among the highways, the head of state mentioned Ashgabat-Karakum-Dashoguz and Turkmenbashi-Ashgabat-Farab, and new highways such as Ashgabat-Turkmenabat are also under construction.
The existing and under construction transport arteries are designed to realize the powerful potential of Turkmenistan and friendly neighboring countries.
