Young chess players from Turkmenistan successfully performed at the Central Asian Championship on classical chess among boys and girls from 8 to 16 years old in Kyrgyzstan, winning gold and silver awards. This is reported by the Internet edition "AsmanNews.
The tournament was held under the Swiss system in 9 rounds with classical time control. Medals in 10 age categories were played among more than 300 chess players. The Turkmen Chess Federation was represented by 2 boys and 3 girls.
Aylar Hemraeva, a school student of Mary velayat was awarded the gold medal in the under 8 years old category. The schoolgirl scored 7.5 points out of 9 possible. Lale Vepayeva, a student of Ashgabat school, pupil of the first private chess academy "Kusht Alemi" in the age category up to 10 years old, brought the silver medal to the Turkmen team. The Turkmen team took the third place in the overall medal standings.
