Turkmenistan proposed to hold an environmental forum in 2026

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov's speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly was devoted to the environmental agenda. The head of state announced the country's intention to promote the Caspian Environmental Initiative, which was put forward earlier. As a key practical measure, the world was offered to hold the Caspian Environmental Forum in 2026. It will become an international platform to address issues of preservation of the Caspian Sea ecosystem. About it reports Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. 

The President also emphasized that Turkmenistan will continue to work to ensure that environmental and climate issues are considered as a fundamental approach to ensuring global security. The goal is to create multilateral mechanisms to monitor and respond to climate and man-made threats.
