Today, May 31, 2021, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov held talks online with the Managing Director of Itochu Corporation Hiroyuki Tsubai. The co-chairmen of the Turkmen-Japanese Economic Committee highly appreciated the level of bilateral partnership and stressed the need for official visits to develop cooperation. Serdar Berdymukhamedov and Hiroyuki Tsubai analyzed the state of implementation of joint projects, discussed prospects for cooperation in the transport, oil and gas, gas chemical and processing sectors.
The negotiators spoke positively about the results of the continued cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan that is based on equal opportunities and takes into account the interests of both sides. The projects in the territory of Turkmenistan, including the Mary ammonia and carbamide plant, the gas chemical complex in Kiyanly village, the carbamide plant in Karabogaz and the Ahal gasoline plant, were mentioned in a positive light. Also, a gas turbine power plant is under construction in Lebap velayat of Turkmenistan, the inauguration of which The President of Turkmenistan invited the Prime Minister of Japan.
The co-chairmen of the Turkmen-Japanese Economic Committee exchanged views on further steps on joint projects, taking into account the interaction with global financial institutions in the current global situation.
