On July 10 in Kiev a meeting was held between the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine V.Krikliy and Ambassador of Turkmenistan T.Atayev. On the agenda were issues related to the resumption of direct passenger flights between the countries, as well as the prospects for Turkmen-Ukrainian relations.
Krikliy noted Ukraine's interest in the restoration of air communication with Turkmenistan, and introduced an initiative to conduct online consultations on the subject with the management of the Turkmen airline "Turkmenhovayollary". The head of the State Aviation Service A.Bilchuk, who was present at the meeting, promised to make every effort to implement this communication.
The parties also considered opportunities for the development of economic cooperation. Resumption of air communication is one of the important factors for increasing trade turnover between the countries. Atayev also stressed Turkmenistan's interest in attracting Ukrainian businessmen to Turkmenistan's projects.
