Turkmenistan participated in the CMS/COP14 conference

The Turkmen delegation headed by the Minister of Environmental Protection Ch. Babaniyazov took part in the 14th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS/COP14), which was held under the slogan "Nature knows no borders" in Samarkand from February 12 to 17. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

The conference was attended by representatives of states that have acceded to the Convention, public organizations, scientists, and expert practitioners. The aim of the event was to find solutions for the conservation of migratory animals and their habitats.

The conference resulted in the adoption of a new Strategic Plan under the Convention for the period 2024-2032. Turkmenistan joined the Convention in 2021. Today, more than 130 countries of the world are its participants.
