Turkmenistan's national fencing team won 5 medals at the Central Asian Championship among children aged 10-14, which was held in the capital of Uzbekistan. This is reported by the Internet edition SNG.Today.
The young athletes received two golds, two bronze awards and one silver as a result of the intense competition. Turkmen athlete Zeineb Abdullayeva won the gold medal in individual competition in the age category up to 12 years old. In the final fight she met with another representative of Turkmenistan - Jennet Mammedova, who took the honorable second place and won "silver".
The Turkmen team consisting of Jennet Mamedova and sisters Zeineb and Elif Abdullaev won the gold medal in the team competition. The bronze medal in individual competition was won by Daniel Voronin in the age category up to 12 years old. The same athlete in a trio with Turkmen fencer Hemra Khanmedov and Umar Umaev from Kazakhstan won the second bronze medal.
