Turkmen sambo wrestlers took two silver medals on the first day of the Youth World Cup

The Youth Sambo World Championship has started in Indonesia, and representatives of Turkmenistan immediately won two silver medals. Competitions among the strongest sambo wrestlers of the planet aged 16-20 years old are held in Bogor District and will last three days, during which 37 sets of medals will be played. The Turkmen team won both medals in combat sambo competitions among juniors. The first success was achieved by 18-year-old Rasul Dzhabrailov in the weight up to 64 kg. On his way to the final, he defeated Nurasyl Klyshbaev from Kazakhstan and Indonesian Handezku Victorias, but in the decisive bout he lost to Russian Daniil Kudyakov, who was competing under the flag of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS).

The second silver medal went to 19-year-old Malikberdi Begiev, who fought in the 88 kg category. He confidently advanced to the quarterfinals and semifinals, defeating Indonesia's Zemzi Delnaida and the Netherlands' Leko Terpstra. In the final, Begiev lost to another Russian sambo wrestler, Demid Volkov, who also represented FIAS.

According to FIAS President Vasily Shestakov, holding the world championship in Indonesia is a strategically important step to strengthen the position of sambo in Southeast Asia. The competition continues.
