Advisor on Economy of the Ukrainian embassy in Azerbaijan S. Shteluk spoke about the potential prospects of using the "Southern Gas Corridor" to import gas to Ukrainian consumers. The first step leading to such a result could be the accession of Ukraine to the activities of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor. The diplomat stressed that several ways to implement this idea are being considered, the final decision depends on economic factors.
At this stage, the "Southern Gas Corridor" will transport Azerbaijani gas through Turkey to Europe. Deliveries are planned to start in October 2020, the planned volume is 10 billion cubic meters.
In the future, Turkmen gas, which will be delivered to Azerbaijan after the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline, may also be transported via the SOGC system.
It should be noted that yesterday the President of Ukraine V. Zelensky received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan T. Atayev. The Ukrainian leader stressed his interest in expanding Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation.
