The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a festive event on the occasion of 25 years since the adoption of the UN resolution "On the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
The participants of the exhibition included Turkmen students of Tashkent universities, teachers of these educational institutions, representatives of the Turkmen Diaspora, as well as delegates of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Yazguly Mammedov addressed the audience during the opening ceremony. He spoke about events devoted to the 25th anniversary of Turkmen neutrality held not only in Turkmenistan but in other countries as well. So, on December 12 in Ashgabat it is planned to hold international conference devoted to the policy of neutrality and its role in providing of peace and security all over the world.
The diplomat also told the participants of the exhibition about the history and role of Turkmen neutrality in strengthening peace and security not only regionally but also globally.
Concluding his speech, Mammadov congratulated the brotherly Uzbek people on National Flag Day, and wished them wellbeing and prosperity.
Abdurakhim Nurmuradov, head of the Spiritual-Educational Subdivision of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendship with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, spoke next. He noted the important role of Turkmenistan's peaceful, neutral policy and recalled that the two peoples, Turkmen and Uzbek, have always had unbreakable brotherly and kindred ties.
Visitors of the exhibition also familiarized themselves with video clips allowing to learn better not only history and traditions of Turkmenistan but also to see how the state lives today and what it has reached for 25 years of its neutrality. The videos also tell about the magnificent nature and rich national culture.
The participants were introduced to the scientific works and books by Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, the sights of the country, samples of carpet weaving, handicrafts and embroidery, eloquently testifying to the rich historical and cultural experience of the Turkmen people.
