On May 12, 2021 the International Forum on Attraction of Foreign Investments in the Oil and Gas Sector of Turkmenistan, held in the year of the thirtieth anniversary of independence of the state, began its work at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum was organized by Turkmengaz and Turkmenneft state concerns, Turkmengeologiya State Corporation, the Ministry of Finance, Turkmen Forum public company and with participation of GaffneyCline (United Kingdom). More than five hundred representatives of 42 states and 160 world companies of oil and gas and investment sectors, experts of financial institutions and global structures participate in the forum, which is held in a hybrid format.
The forum was launched by an official address of the President of Turkmenistan, in which Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov noted the active development of the country's oil and gas fields with attraction of foreign investments as one of the vectors of the state development. The Turkmen leader emphasized that exploration of fields, their development and expansion of areas is carried out with the support of foreign companies under the signed agreements. According to the head of state, the forum will greatly facilitate the international exchange of experience, expansion of business contacts and creation of conditions for implementation of new projects.
The agenda includes significant topics of the global and national oil and gas industry and discussion of development trends. The speakers of the forum were Head of the Ministry of Finance of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov, deputy chairman of the State Concern Turkmengaz, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, Chinese Ambassador Qian NachengBaroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, a British trade envoy. Video addresses were broadcast the Executive Secretary of ESCAP Armida Salsia Alisjaban и IEF Secretary General Joseph McMonigle.
