Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Ashgabat Qian Nacheng described the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline as "an energy Silk Road in a new era. The Chinese diplomat made such a comparison of mutually beneficial interaction between the two countries in the sphere of natural gas during the plenary session International Investment Forum of the Turkmen Oil and Gas Sector. In his speech, Qian Nacheng said that since the start of operation of the gas pipeline in 2009, the Celestial Empire has imported about 300 billion cubic meters of natural gas. This allowed China to become the largest importer of Turkmen gas and maintain this status to this day.
The Ambassador also mentioned the commissioning of a gas compressor station at the Malay field (Turkmenistan). This will allow for uninterrupted export of blue fuel to China in sufficient volumes in the future.
The ambassador also emphasized in his speech that his country is willing to share the vast opportunities of its market with Turkmenistan. China, cooperating with other countries, intends to shape a prosperous and bright future.
Not so long ago. The heads of Turkmenistan and China had a telephone conversation. It resulted in reaching important agreements aimed at strengthening the partnership in the gas sphere. This, in turn, brought the Turkmen-Chinese relations and bilateral business partnership to a new level. In the Celestial Empire the Official visit by Serdar Berdymukhamedov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan and Co-Chairman of the Sino-Turkmenian Cooperation Committee. Representatives of Turkmenistan participate in meetings with heads and delegates of relevant departments and enterprises of China.
Also during the Turkmen-Chinese negotiations Chinese foreign minister stressed that China expects to increase gas supplies from Turkmenistan.
