A modern 5 hectare greenhouse complex has been built in the Ahal province of Turkmenistan and banana cultivation has begun. This is reported in the periodical "Rysgal".
The company "Khemsaya" set up work on the cultivation of tropical fruits, creating in the greenhouse complex climatic conditions necessary for the successful adaptation of the heat-loving plant.
At present the greenhouse complex is equipped with advanced equipment which allows to control air temperature and humidity indicators automatically. A water-saving irrigation system is also in place. The complex employs about 40 highly qualified specialists.
The company "Hemsaya" plans to harvest bananas in an annual volume of up to 100 tons. The company has now started growing this exotic "Cavendish" berry variety.
