Turkmen boxer Bayramdurdy Nurmuhammedov, competing at the Asian Games for the first time, has reached the next round of the competition. Bairamdurdy Nurmuhammedov is a 21-year-old student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, a native of the town of Makhtumkuli in Balkan province. In the first fight against Davud Mahkamov from Tajikistan in the 71 kg weight category, Bayramdurdy won 5:0 and advanced to the next round. Now the Turkmen boxer will have to fight for a medal with 19-year-old Nidal Fokahaa from Palestine.
Thirteen sets of medals are being played at the XIX Asian Summer Games in boxing. Four athletes represent Turkmenistan in this sport at the Asian Games. H. Imankuliev and D. Annaseyidov have already completed their performances, while A. Achilov is yet to have his first fight.
