Natural uniqueness is preserved in Turkmenistan's nature reserves

Employees of Turkmenistan's nature reserves are working on the preservation and scientific study of ecological systems of forests. This is reported by the online edition of SNG.today.

One of the largest nature reserves in Turkmenistan is Amuderya in the Lebap province of Turkmenistan. It includes Kelif, Gorelda, Gabakly and Nargiz divisions of the reserve.

The Kelif Reserve covers an area of 103 thousand hectares and is located simultaneously in the Karakum and Kyzylgum deserts. The staff of the reserve works on preservation and multiplication of desert plant species. Ready-made seedlings are planted on plots near settlements, which are grown from seeds for 3-4 years. The flora of the Reserve includes 225 species of plants, 125 of which are desert plants, 15 of which are medicinal. Cypress, beech, oak, petde, igde, djungar and other trees grow in the forests of the Reserve.
