UNFPA presented the World Population Report in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, July 15 - Arzuw.news. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) office in Turkmenistan held a presentation of the World Population Report 2025 on the eve of the World Population Day, which is celebrated on July 11. Arzuw.news reports citing a source.

The event was held at Yýldyz Hotel under the motto "Empowering young people to create desirable families in a just and hopeful world". The presentation was attended by national partners and representatives of international organizations.

Mr. Kemal Goshlyev, Head of the UNFPA Office in Turkmenistan, noted the importance of taking into account the opinion of young people in shaping the social policy of the state. He emphasized the need to create conditions for the realization of the potential of the young generation.

The presented report pays special attention to the demographic prospects of Central Asia, where the population is growing steadily with a predominance of young age groups. For Turkmenistan, the current demographic situation creates unique opportunities for socio-economic development of the country.

As part of the event, the organizers held an exhibition of watercolour works based on the results of the art contest "Family begins with desire and support" organized by UNFPA. The authors of the best works received commemorative prizes for their creative achievements.

The presentation became a platform for discussing topical issues of demographic development and strengthening partnership in the realization of sustainable development goals in Turkmenistan.
