188 men's and 169 women's teams competed for medals at the World Chess Olympiad. The competitors were divided into five groups according to their average rating.
Merited Coach of Turkmenistan Serdar Annaberdiev, candidate master of sports Shakhrukh Turaev and the head of the delegation, FIDE Master Mergen Kakabaev were preparing Turkmen chess players for the Olympiad.
The next World Chess Olympiad will be held in two years - in 2026. The venue of the main team chess tournament will be the capital of Uzbekistan - Tashkent.
