The meeting of the HLWG on the Caspian Sea started in Ashgabat

The eleventh meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea with the participation of delegations of all five Caspian littoral states started at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on September 15. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting is chaired by the head of the Turkmen delegation M.G.Atadjanov. Representatives of Azerbaijan led by S.A. Sharifov, Iran led by K.G. Abadi, Kazakhstan with the delegation of Z.A. Amanzholova and Russia with the delegation of N.N. Udovichenko also take part in the work.

The participants discuss methodologies for establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea. In addition, the parties review cooperation in the Caspian Sea and consider preparations for the next meeting of foreign ministers of the Caspian littoral states.

Special attention is paid to the establishment of a working group of Caspian littoral states on the problems of the Caspian Sea shoaling. The meeting continues its work.
