Ashgabat, July 29 - Arzuw.news. Turkmenistan exported 120.03 million cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey in May 2025, which accounted for 3.39% of the total volume of Turkish imports of blue fuel. According to the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Board (EPDK), Turkmenistan ranked fifth among the largest gas suppliers to the Turkish republic. The leading position is held by Russia with a share of 33.7%, second place is occupied by Azerbaijan with 29.87%, third place is occupied by Iran with 22.37%, fourth place belongs to Algeria with a share of 7.96%.
Turkey's total natural gas imports reached 3.54 billion cubic meters in May, up 22.79% year-on-year. At the same time, pipeline gas accounted for more than 89% of supplies, with volumes increasing by 35.3%.
Turkmen gas is exported under the agreement concluded on February 10, 2025 between the government delegations of the two countries. The document provides for annual deliveries of Turkmen natural gas to Turkey of up to 2 billion cubic meters.
