Turkmenistan honors older generation on international holiday

A festive meeting on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons was held in Ashgabat on October 1, 2025. The event was organized by the Mejlis and Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan with the participation of political parties and public associations of the country. It is reported online edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."

The meeting was held under the symbolic mottos: "The elderly are the school of wisdom of society" and "A reference point for time, an example for generations". The program included musical numbers and a ceremony honoring representatives of the older generation.

Poetess Bahargul Kerimova, who spoke at the event, emphasized the special attention paid to the elderly in Turkmenistan. She noted that many important state decisions are discussed with their participation, and the advice and instructions of respected aksakals play a special role in the upbringing of young people.
