President of Turkmenistan signs decree on pardoning 225 convicts

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on pardoning 225 convicted citizens at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held digitally. According to the document, those serving prison sentences are released in honor of the 34th anniversary of the country's Independence. This is reported by the online edition "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Opening the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of state noted that holding humane actions in the form of pardoning repentant citizens has become a good tradition in Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Secretary of the State Security Council and Defense Minister B. Gundogdiyev, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, to organize work on the release of the convicts and their speedy return to their families.

The head of state wished the pardoned citizens to work diligently, sincerely serve the Motherland and enjoy the fruits of their honest labor.
