President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution on awarding the honorary title "Hormatly il ýaşulusy" (Honorary Elder of Turkmenistan) to 19 citizens of the country. The award recognizes the special contribution of the older generation in strengthening the independence of the country and educating the youth in the spirit of patriotism. Among those who received the high title are Deryageldi Nuryevich Orazov Derageldi Nuryevich, Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of Arkadag City, and Sakhetov Sadyk Nepesovich, Chief Imam of "Hezreti Osman" Mosque.
The awardees represent all regions of Turkmenistan: Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary provinces, as well as the capital Ashgabat. They work in various spheres of activity and have made a significant contribution to the development of national traditions.
The head of Turkmenistan noted the important role of the older generation in strengthening the unity of the people and participation in state reforms.
