Turkmenistan marked the 34th anniversary of independence with a solemn ceremony

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the Independence Monument dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the country's sovereignty. The event gathered representatives of the Government and diplomatic corps, members of public organizations and residents of the capital. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age“.

In his address, the head of state emphasized that during the years of independence significant progress had been achieved in all spheres: modern cities and industrial complexes had been built, developed infrastructure had been created. It has become a good tradition to celebrate the holiday by opening new social, cultural and industrial facilities across the country.

Special attention was paid to the significance of the current year, which was declared the International Year of Peace and Confidence at the initiative of Turkmenistan and coincided with the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality.

The ceremony of laying flowers ended with filling the square near the monument with numerous bouquets symbolizing the unity and sovereignty of the Turkmen people. Solemn events in honor of Independence Day were held in all regions of the country.
