Turkmenistan marked the 34th anniversary of Independence with large-scale races

Celebrations on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence were held at the central hippodrome in Ashgabat. The key event of the holiday was the competition of Akhalteke horses watched by thousands of spectators. It is reported MIC.

The event was given a special status by the presence of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Before the start of the races, the Head of State visited an exhibition showcasing successes in horse breeding, as well as works of art on the theme of Akhal-Teke horses.

The festive program was complemented by performances of artists presenting the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. Among the invitees were officials, parliamentarians, diplomats, students and residents of the capital.

The culmination of the festival was a series of seven exciting races. The riders were awarded 100,000 manat for winning each of them. The main prize established by the President was won by Begenchmyrat Aghamyradov on the horse Bezirgen, who received a check for AZN 300,000.

Akhalteke horse racing in Turkmenistan is not only a sport, but also a tribute to the national heritage. This ancient breed, which is the symbol of the country, has been preserving its purity and unique qualities for thousands of years. The holiday once again emphasized that Turkmenistan carefully preserves its historical heritage, in which the Akhal-Teke horse has a special place.
