"Nowadays people lack kindness"- interview with Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Olga Volkova

Artists of the Pushkin State Russian Drama Theater are on tour in Mary these days. They presented the play "Ando and Sandro" based on the play by Ossetian playwright Georgy Khugaev. Olga Volkova, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, who played the role of Margo on stage, answered the questions of the Arzuw.news correspondent:

-Tell us how the idea for the production of "Andro and Sandro" came about?

- You know, it all started with drama: we read the play, collected materials, watched movies and plays by Ossetian authors. The director drew parallels between the story told in the play and today's times, which made the production of the play relevant.

How long does makeup take?

- The work of make-up artists is also very responsible and takes 20-25 minutes, depending on the age of the actor. For example, the actor playing the role of Andro, Kerim Ataev, is quite young, and they "turn" him into an old man. The make-up artists give him gray hair with toothpaste (laughs).

- Describe your heroine's character in three words?

- Love for people. It seems to me that people lack kindness nowadays. You need to be in harmony with yourself. Today's people are eaten up by mercantilism, but in this play this character trait is absent at all. Each character worries for each other as for a relative. Nowadays there is a lack of humanity, when people are able to worry for another more than for themselves. If people think about this, life will be much better.

-The pros and cons of your heroine?

- And there are no downsides at all. Every person has flaws, which my heroine has. This is the appeal of the image, which is characterized by vitality and humanity. There are no negative characters in the play, only positive ones. If my heroine quarrels with her husband (Andro), all these quarrels are love quarrels. We wanted people to start loving, appreciating and respecting each other after watching our play.

  • "Each character worries about each other as if they were their own" - what language is that in?
It would be more correct : "All the characters worry one for the other as if they were family" or "Each character worries about the other as if they were family" or "Each of the characters worries about the other as if they were family".
My opinion, if you write in Russian - write literately.

    • Olga Vladimirovna is very literate and made everything clear in the interview. And if you don't understand something, that's another thing.....
