Mendeleev Olympiad 2020: Turkmen students have 4 medals

July 19, Ashgabat, /Arzuw NEWS/. The 54th International Mendeleev Competition in Chemistry (IMChO) was held online July 13-18 this year. The Olympiad was organized by a group of scientists from Moscow State University and the Olympic Organizing Committee.

This year, 131 students from 27 countries, including Turkmenistan, China, Iran, Ukraine, Hungary, Austria, and others participated in IMChO. The Olympiad was held in two theoretical stages. The Turkmenistan team participated in the Olympiad with 4 students and won two silver and two bronze medals.

Berdigylych Redzhepbaev, a 10th grader at the S. Turkmenbashi State Boarding School for Gifted Children, won a silver medal; Yusup Dovletmuradov, a 10th grader at the same school, won a bronze medal; and Gozel Dovranova, a 9th grader at the same school.Dovletmuradov Yusup, a 10th grader at the same school, won a bronze medal; Gozel Dovranova, a 9th grader at the same school, won a bronze medal and Davut Muhammetkuliev, a 9th grader at the 86th special secondary school in Ashgabat, who teaches advanced English, chemistry and biology, won a silver medal. It should be noted that Gozel Dovranova is the first Turkmen schoolgirl to win a medal at IMChO.

The team was led by Nazar Mamedov, a chemistry teacher at the State Boarding School for Gifted Children.

Международная Менделеевская химическая олимпиада (IMChО) – крупный международный конкурс по химии для учеников средних школ. Конкурс был основан еще в СССР, как Всесоюзная химическая олимпиада в 1967 году.
