A series of seminars on adaptation to climate change started in Turkmenistan

A series of workshops under the NAP project dedicated to the development of national climate change adaptation planning has started in Turkmenistan. This project is implemented by UNDP in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan with financial support from the Green Climate Fund. This is reported by the Internet publication "Vestiabad".

The participants of the seminars were representatives of the private sector of the country's economy. The purpose of the workshops was to increase the level of knowledge of Turkmenistan's private business representatives about climate risks and existing negative impacts of climate change, as well as to increase knowledge about adaptive capacity.

Seminars on water security and impact of climate change on water resources have already been held in Ashgabat and Dashoguz - training events were held from June 3 to 7 this year.
