The activity of Balkan JSC contributes to Turkmenistan's building up its river and sea potential. Thus, the shipbuilding and ship repair plant operating since 2019 processes 2.0 thousand tons of steel annually. When working at full capacity, the company is capable of repairing more than 20 ships per year.
The industrial capacity of the plant allows it to build up to 6 ships and produce 10 thousand tons of steel annually. In the course of its activities the plant's employees use automation and apply the most modern technologies.
It should be noted that Balkan not only repairs a variety of vessels - from tankers to launches - but also manufactures products and equipment that are in demand in the national economy. In addition, the enterprise trains highly qualified personnel - professionals in this field. Balkan JSC has all the prerequisites for taking leading positions in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry - the company is already fully compliant with international standards.
It should be noted that earlier Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation reached an agreement on the opening of the Turkmen logistics center in Astrakhan. And Ukraine has expressed interest in the potential of the sea port of Turkmenbashi, located on the Caspian Sea.
