In Ashgabat the winners of the open championship of the city among archers of Turkmenistan were determined. The competition was held by the Main Department of Sports and Youth Policy of the capital in cooperation with the sports school No 5. Over thirty athletes showed their skills.
The archers competed according to the Olympic system - toss-up. Both classic and block bows were used for shooting. In the first case, the target was to hit from a distance of 12 and 18 meters, and in the second - from 18 meters. Competitions were held in three age groups. The junior category consisted of young archers born in 2008 and later. The junior category included archers born from 2004 to 2007, and the adult category included all those born in 2003 and earlier.
Georgy Agiyarov became the best archer of the block archery. "Shirin Babayeva won silver and Fahraddin Ishchanov won bronze.
The winner among adult archers was Polat Metdiev, who hit the target from 18 meters better than anyone else. Second and third places went to Agajan Gullashov and Ilyas Orazgeldyev, respectively.
Gurban Gurbanov became a leader in the age category of archers born in 2004-2007, and the second and third places were distributed between Bakhit Gurbanov and Kuvvat Ataev.
Ezizmukhammet Sahedov hit the target from 12 meters from the classical archery better than all the shooters of the younger age group. Omar Myradov was the second and Ali Dosov was the third.
There were also group competitions between athletes under 14 years old. The first line was taken by the team consisting of Jorakuli Jumaev, Rustem Gurbanov and Maede Abbasova. Agajan Gullashov, Allaberdi Orazov and Bahbit Gurbanov took the second place, and Kakajan Hummedov, Dayanchmurad Galpakov and Kovsar Abbasova took the third.
