On November 25 in the evening, the opening ceremony of the 14th World Kurash Championship was held at the Sports Complex of Martial Arts in the Olympic City of Ashgabat. This is reported by the online edition of "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
During the official part of the opening ceremony, the national flags of the countries participating in the tournament were brought to the arena of the sports complex. At the beginning of the event the welcoming address of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was read out.
To the sounds of the National Anthem of Turkmenistan, the National Flag of the host country was raised, after which the World Wrestling Championship was declared open. Then the President of the International Kurash Association Haidar Farman made a speech, stressing the high level of organization of the tournament by the Turkmen side.
