A two-day meeting of delegates from the CIS member states was held to discuss veterinary and livestock issues. Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan also participated in the online event.
The parties held consultations affecting cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine and discussed ways and means of implementing research projects and programs aimed at early detection and prevention of animal diseases.
Participants of the videoconference exchanged information on the epizootic situation in the CIS member states, measures taken to reduce the negative effects caused by COVID-19. They also touched upon the topic of following veterinary regulations during export-import transportation of goods, which are controlled by the Veterinary Service.
Turkmen specialists noted that in our country significant attention is paid to increasing the resources of the agricultural sector, including the improvement of livestock, poultry and horse breeding sectors, scientific breeding work.
Methodical strengthening of material-technical base of agricultural sphere and branches related to it is carried out for realization of the set purposes. Turkmenistan also expands cooperation with other countries in this area, including with foreign scientific institutions, departments and organizations.
In addition, the State Veterinary Service monitors the health of both domesticated and wild birds and animals and prevents the risk of spread of various diseases. To this end, it monitors imported poultry and livestock products from abroad, as well as veterinary drugs and feed.
