On June 26, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Yaşar Güler, TDH reports.
In the course of the meeting, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the talks between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Turkey and his Turkmen counterparts would give impetus to the expansion and strengthening of bilateral ties.
In continuation of the meeting, Yashar Guler noted the significant contribution of the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan to the development of a fruitful interstate dialog in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
For many years, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey have been successfully developing cooperation in the military field. In this regard, the possibilities of enhancing cooperation in this area were discussed. In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen people reiterated his readiness to consider the proposals of the Turkish side.
During the meeting, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that neutral Turkmenistan, based on the Military Doctrine, which is purely defensive in nature, carries out comprehensive work to ensure peace and well-being. At the same time, special importance is attached to further modernization of the material and technical base of the National Army and improvement of the level of combat training of officers and soldiers.
At the end of the meeting, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Turkish National Defense Minister noted the unwavering commitment of the two states to build up fruitful cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples.
