Head of the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan met with the Indian ambassador

Minister of Industry and Construction of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Peethambaran Nair.

Exchanging warm words of greeting, the sides stressed the importance of the beginning of the year, which, in accordance with a UN General Assembly resolution initiated by the President of Turkmenistan, has been declared the International Year of Peace and Confidence.

It is noted that Turkmenistan and India have long established partnership relations. They are also linked by cultural and historical ties. The sides also emphasized that an active dialogue between their leaders contributes to the further dynamic development of relations between the states.

During the meeting, participants also noted the effectiveness of bilateral relations in such areas as politics, economics, trade and culture. Cooperation is particularly fruitful in the energy and transport sectors, as well as in healthcare.

The Indian diplomat praised the desire of Turkmenistan's leaders to form international transit-transport corridors and ensure energy security at the global level. The ambassador confirmed the interest of the country he represents in stepping up action on the laying of the TAPI gas pipeline. As you know, this project is carried out to ensure the development of economic cooperation in the region and the world.

The sides also exchanged views on expanding partnerships between Turkmenistan and India in various fields of construction and industry.
