Lappartien presented the President of Turkmenistan with the decision of the organization's Steering Committee to award the Turkmen leader with the highest award of the UCI in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the development of cycling and the Olympic movement in Turkmenistan.

Mr. Lappartien thanked the President of Turkmenistan for his support of the UCI initiatives and for the opportunity to hold the Track Cycling World Championship in the capital of Turkmenistan in 2021. He noted the high quality, modernity and compliance with international requirements of the indoor cycling track, which is located in the complex of the Olympic city.
I. Makarov, member of the UCI Steering Committee and head of ARETI, who was present at the meeting, congratulated the Leader of the Turkmen nation on the high award.
