Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan outlined the position on the development of partnership within the CIS

Addressing the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov outlined Turkmenistan's position on improving cooperation within the Commonwealth. The head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry also touched on the international and regional agenda of the meeting.

Touching upon interstate relations, Meredov stressed the importance of adhering to the UN Charter. The Turkmen Foreign Minister also noted that Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov's initiatives continue to be relevant today and receive support from international organizations. Thus, the Turkmen leader's proposal that this year should be designated as the International Year of Peace and Trust was reflected in the relevant UN General Assembly resolution.

At the moment, Turkmenistan is working on the UN Regulations. The document will increase the effectiveness of the use of the concept of neutrality to resolve international issues. The peacekeeping tools of neutrality can be used to prevent the aggravation of conflicts and ensure the formation of a basis for their resolution exclusively by political and diplomatic measures.

The head of Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry appealed to his colleagues to develop a partnership on a number of different topical issues.

Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister R.Meredov also outlined the position of the state on improving the efficiency of interaction mechanisms within the CIS. The politician noted that Turkmenistan is focused on the development of common methods based on international legal postulates.

The diplomat expressed the interest of his state in building a stronger partnership for the preservation of shared historical and cultural treasures, in the deployment of scientific interaction and cooperation in the field of health.
