On the eve of the meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Armenia discussed the main directions of cooperation, stressing the importance of preserving the cultural heritage and historical monuments.
During the discussion of a wide range of issues, Rashid Meredov and Ara Ayvazyan stressed that good traditions of mutual cooperation have long been established between their states, which it is now important to continue to develop and strengthen. In addition, the parties intend to work to identify the existing potential in this relationship. In light of these intentions, the Turkmen-Armenian interdepartmental consultations are of great importance.
According to the diplomats, the key vectors of the partnership between Turkmenistan and Armenia are science, economy, trade, as well as cultural and humanitarian direction.
Meredov and Ayvazyan praised the interaction of the countries they represent within the framework of international associations. The diplomats also expressed their views on a number of issues on the agenda of the current meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers.
The meeting touched on issues of the global and regional agenda. The preservation of important historical and cultural monuments for the Turkmen and Armenian peoples was emphasized.
