An evening dedicated to poet Nizami Ganjavi was held in Ashgabat

The Cultural Center of the Iranian Embassy in Turkmenistan hosted a creative evening dedicated to the poet and philosopher of the 12th century Nizami Ganjavi. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

The event was organized by the IRI Embassy in Ashgabat and the Dovletmammed Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. Navid Rasuli, Cultural Counselor of the IRI Embassy, spoke at the event. He noted that Nizami Ganjavi's work influenced the formation of Persian poetry and world culture, as well as the works of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi, which can be traced in revealing the themes of love for the Motherland and his people.

Nizami Ganjavi, poet and philosopher of the medieval East, is the author of the immortal poems "Leyli and Majnun", "Khosrow and Shirin", "Seven Beauties", "The Treasury of Secrets", "Iskander-name" and many other works.
