On August 22, the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory hosted a concert "Truly he became the mouth of Turkmenistan", a lecture "Makhtumkuli's Legacy and Modern Musical Art" and an exhibition timed to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi as part of the XVIII International Music Festival "Gathering Friends". Ambassador of Turkmenistan Esen Aydogdiyev noted the symbolism of holding the event in the hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Academic College - the oldest educational institution where many famous Turkmen composers and musicians studied at different times. The concert was a confirmation of recognition of the high global significance of the Turkmen poet's work and evidence of strong cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Russia.
The program of the concentrate included works on poems by Makhtumkuli and compositions dedicated to the works of the classic of Turkmen literature. Pictures and books dedicated to Makhtumkuli Fraghi were presented at the exhibition.
