Progress in improving customs procedures discussed in Turkmenistan

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held a meeting of the interdepartmental commission to coordinate the work of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" system and discuss progress in modernization of customs procedures. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The aim of this project is to simplify customs clearance procedures through the introduction of the Single Window system. The meeting was attended by customs officials, representatives of ministries, agencies and public organizations.

The Single Window project is implemented jointly by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, UNDP and the UN Conference on Trade and Development. The project is aimed at strengthening the country's economy, strengthening state institutions of power, creating favorable conditions for foreign economic activity, expanding Turkmenistan's participation in the global and regional economy. During the meeting, the launch of the Single Window system took place.
