Sculptures of 25 writers to be installed in Makhtumkuli Fraghi Park in Turkmenistan

Sculptures of 25 foreign poets and philosophers from different countries will be installed on the territory of the new cultural and park complex Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This is reported by Vestiabad.ru online edition.

According to People's Artist of Turkmenistan Saragt Babaev, the list of writers and philosophers, whose sculptures will decorate the new cultural site, is currently being coordinated with the governments of the states.

China will reportedly be represented by the poet Du Fu, Georgia by the 12th century poet Shota Rustaveli, and Iran by the 13th-14th century scholar Kut-ad-din Shirazi. The list of candidates includes Rabindranath Tagore, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Alisher Navoi, Yunus Emre, William Shakespeare, Honoré de Balzac, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Chingiz Aitmatov.

The sculptures will be made of bronze, their height will be 3.5 meters, they will be installed on pedestals 2.5 meters high.
