Chess championship among athletes under 18 starts in Turkmenistan

On Monday, February 20, 2023, the national chess championship begins in Ashgabat, where boys and girls under 18 will fight for the champion title. The organizers of this event are the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan together with the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan.

The championship will be held at the Specialized School of Chess and Draughts under the Head Department of Sports of the capital of Turkmenistan. More than three hundred young chess players under 18 from Ashgabat and all five provinces of the country will take part in the competition.

The competition will be held under the Swiss system in 9 rounds in accordance with the rules of the International Chess Federation.

The tournament for the title of Turkmenistan's champion among boys and girls will end on February 24. Athletes who won prizes will receive commemorative medals and gifts from the organizers of the event.
