Fruit and vegetable exports to Russia from Turkmenistan increased by 30%

Since the beginning of this year, the volume of exports of Turkmen fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation has increased by 30%. This was reported by RBC website, citing the information of Rosselkhoznadzor. The increase in exports of these categories of goods to Russia is higher only in Morocco - shipments from the country in 2022 increased by 45%.

The increase in volumes of fruit and vegetable products from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan amounted to 21, 16 and 14%, respectively. In addition to Central Asian countries, fruit and vegetable supplies to Russia were increased by: China - 11%, Moldova - 20% and Egypt - 16%.

The total volume of Russian imports of these commodity groups amounted to 5.15 million tons of products, which is 5% less than last year. The decrease in imports was due to a decrease in supplies from a number of Latin American states and South Africa.
