Young Turkmen chess player takes bronze at West Asian Championship

The West Asian Chess Championship has ended in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, where a 6-year-old chess player from Turkmenistan Begli Annagylydzhov won a bronze medal. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The chess tournament was held on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. It was attended by more than 280 athletes aged 6 to 18 from Bangladesh, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Oman, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The tournament also featured chess players under the flag of the International Chess Federation. The competitions were held in three techniques: classical chess, Rapid and Blitz.

Young Begley, scoring 7 points, was awarded a bronze medal in the youngest age group, behind two athletes from Kazakhstan.

Trainers of Ashgabat chess club "Küşt Älemi" were engaged in preparation of the little sportsman, thanks to whom Begli was able to take part in international competitions for the first time in his life.
