Checkpoints on the border between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will be modernized

Checkpoints on the border with Turkmenistan will be modernized as part of the development of effective Turkmen-Kazakh partnership in the transport and communication field. This is reported by the Internet edition SNG.Today.

Kazakhstan plans to increase the capacity at the checkpoint with Turkmenistan to 960 vehicles per 24 hours, which is 6 times higher than the current capacity. This will make it possible to reduce the time required to pass customs checkpoints to 30 minutes.

Also, the program to modernize checkpoints on the Turkmen-Kazakh border provides for the introduction of an electronic queue, which will prevent congestion of vehicles along the roads and at checkpoints.
