Construction of the Turgundi railway station started on the border of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan

The construction of a warehouse complex in the "dry port" of the Turgundi railway station and the Turgundi-Sanabar section of the first stage of the Turgundi-Herat railroad was launched today on the border between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Acting Chairman of the Afghan Cabinet Molla Mohammed Hasan Akhund attended the ceremony to mark the start of construction.

Construction of new facilities is being carried out under the Memorandum of Cooperation on Construction of Facilities at the Turgundi Railway Station and the Work Plan for the Construction of a 22-kilometer section of the Turgundi-Herat Railway. Turgundi links Turkmenistan and Afghanistan by road and rail.
