In December, a summit meeting is scheduled between the presidents of the Caspian basin countries: Turkey, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. The agenda includes a discussion of the project of creating a "gas hub" in Turkey. This is nothing other than the distribution center proposed by the Russian leadership, linking gas pipelines and liquefied natural gas supplies into a single fist.
Turkey is the country whose territory is best suited for the creation of a hub, because the strategically important Turkish Stream and the Azerbaijani gas pipeline pass here. The creation of a powerful hub will allow the transfer of gas flows to Europe without any problems.
Russia is also interested in the implementation of this project, proposing to direct the transportation of gas from the Nord Streams to areas in the Black Sea basin and to the Turkish hub. It will be possible to deliver Russian gas through the territory of Turkey.
The need to implement the hub project was caused by the concern of the Russian president about possible sabotage of the Russian gas system pipelines, such as occurred in the "Nord Stream".
