On May 18, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov held a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov. The interlocutors discussed the epidemiological situation in the republic, where the deputy head of the government stressed that facts of COVID-19 infection are detected daily among drivers of trucks transporting cargo from abroad. This is reported by press service of the head of Kyrgyzstan.
The president inquired about the steps being taken by state and local authorities to combat the spread of the infection, and also discussed the resumption of economic activity in the state.
According to the deputy head of the Cabinet, the epidemiological situation in the country remains stable, but at the same time dangerous; in particular, the serious situation is observed in the Naryn region, where an additional group of medics was sent in time.
Jeenbekov noted the need to strengthen measures to further prevent the spread of the infection in Kyrgyzstan.
