The President of Turkmenistan congratulated his compatriots on the anniversary of Ashgabat

In the solemn address of the President of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat it was noted that the capital of Turkmenistan has fundamentally changed during the years of independence. Turkmenistan has made significant investments to develop the capital city and make it one of the most livable megacities in the world. Ashgabat, combining advanced innovations, engineering and technical discoveries and traditions of the national architecture, is implementing large-scale programs.

According to the development program of Ashgabat, the white marble city is being built up with residential complexes, shopping malls, social and cultural facilities, and hotels. The city is being actively landscaped with new parks and squares becoming the city's "lungs".

The key mission is to form a modern architectural "face" of the capital of Turkmenistan, provide residents with favorable working and leisure conditions, raise the level of social protection, introduce new jobs, modernize infrastructure, and maintain cleanliness and order at the highest level.

Today's "jubilee" is 140 years old and is situated in a beautiful natural area between the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains and the sands of the Karakum desert. Ashgabat is a symbolic embodiment of the Turkmen nation's dream of sovereignty. All of us heartily love the capital of independent Turkmenistan and are proud of it, just as loving children are proud of their parents. The white marble city is one of the origins of all the achievements of our people.

It should not be forgotten that a number of newly constructed objects during the period of state independence entered the Guinness Book of Records! The capital of Turkmenistan itself has become part of this illustrious list as the city with the largest number of white marble buildings.

Ashgabat is rich in modern libraries, museums, cinemas, concert halls, cultural and entertainment centers and parks. The capital's metropolis is often the site of international conferences, exhibitions, symposia, festivals of global significance, becoming a bridge of friendship, brotherhood, peace and solidarity for states and nations.

The work started on the development and improvement of the capital of Turkmenistan will continue in the future to make Ashgabat one of the most beautiful and comfortable cities of the world.
