"R-Pharm (Russia) and Japanese Canon Medical Systems Corporation plan to open a joint venture in Moscow (RP Canon Medical Systems, LLC), which will deal with sales and service of medical equipment in 9 CIS countries, including Turkmenistan.
The project will improve the quality of medical services by introducing advanced technology, which will eventually lead to the modernization of health care in the following CIS countries: Russia, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Investments in the creation of the Russian-Japanese enterprise will amount to about 800 million rubles (1.2 billion yen). Both sides of the contract will financially participate in the project in equal parts - 50% each.
The decision on the strategic partnership of R-Pharm and Canon Medical Systems was made at the G20 summit last June 29. It is planned that the products of the joint venture will be available for the CIS countries in 2021.
