Turkmenistan national team wins 10 medals at the Sambo World Cup

Turkmen athletes won 10 medals at the Sambo World Cup held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. This is reported by the Internet edition "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

More than 250 athletes from 14 countries competed for medals in 26 weight categories in combat and sport sambo among men and women. Each participating country could present no more than two athletes in one weight category.

The Turkmen team took fourth place in the overall team standings. Athletes from Turkmenistan won one gold, two silver and seven bronze awards. The only gold medalist in the Turkmen team was Niyazmyrat Babekov, a serviceman of the military unit No. 1001 named after M. Berdymukhamedov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, in the weight category up to 64 kg.

The performance of Turkmen sambo wrestlers at the World Cup was noted by the President of the International Sambo Federation Vasily Shestakov.
